Amid the complicated development of the pandemic, Military Region 5’s Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control instructed agencies and units to take drastic COVID-19 containment measures while cooperating with the local Party committee and authorities in fighting the pandemic. Under the direction of the steering committee, 28 mobile COVID-19 prevention and control teams have been set up to assist regional localities in fighting the pandemic.

At the event, delegates agreed that in the coming time leaders of military units under the military region should continue carrying out the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures and working with local leadership, health departments, and centers for disease prevention and control in the fight.

Military Region 5 should complete the installation of surveillance camera systems in the ten quarantine zones managed by local military units and put them into operation as soon as possible.

They also agreed that the military region should build a plan to inoculate personnel of the regional armed forces and other units under the Defense Ministry in the region against SARS-CoV-2.

Furthermore, agencies and units should check and proactively prepare personnel and facilities to quarantine citizens who have had close contact with COVID-19 infection cases.
