At press agencies, Gen. Minh highlighted the important role of the Vietnam revolutionary press in the country’s revolutionary cause. He applauded the military press agencies for promptly and closely following situations in the country and in the military, updating troops and people on the Party’s guidelines, the State’s law and policies and military and defense activities.

He asked the soldier-journalists to be firm in thought, sharp-witted in thinking, bold in action, bring into play the good virtues of Uncle Ho's soldiers on the ideological front, and create many works to meet information needs and improve the cultural and spiritual life of officers, soldiers, and people.

On the afternoon of June 19, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hanoi Tran Sy Thanh visited the People’s Army Newspaper at its head office in Hanoi.

On behalf of the capital’s leaders, Thanh wished all the cadres, reporters, editors, laborers and soldiers of the newspaper good health and excellent task performance.

He expressed his respect for the long tradition of the newspaper as well as its reporters who sacrificed their lives during the resistance wars against French colonialists and U.S. imperialists.

On behalf of the newspaper, Senior Colonel Tran Anh Tuan, Vice Editor-in-Chief, thanked the guest for his wishes which served as a source of encouragement for the newspaper’s staff on the occasion of the 99th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

Col. Tuan affirmed that the People’s Army Newspaper always keeps a close watch on important political, socio-economic events of the country and Hanoi capital city. It also pro-actively combats and criticizes bad phenomena in a timely and sharp fashion; strongly refutes distorted and hostile allegations. Notably, it is a trusted friend and teammate, a bridge for people to understand and trust the Party, the State and the military.

The same day, delegations from the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, Military Region 7 Command, Army Corps 4, and other units and localities in the Southeastern region extended congratulations to the People’s Army Newspaper at its bureau in Ho Chi Minh City.
