In his speech at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang highlighted the significance of celebrating the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day for journalists. He noted that according to the national press development and management plan until 2025, the press sector is undergoing a transformation that requires cautious steps. Regarding the funding for journalism, he emphasized that apart from the Government’s support, press agencies nationwide must strive to overcome challenges. He also extended his best wishes to press agencies and media organizations on this occasion.

* On June 18, the Ha Tinh provincial Party Committee's Commission for Information and Education, in coordination with the provincial Department of Information and Communications and the provincial Journalists' Association, held a meeting to commemorate the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day and awarded the Tran Phu Journalism Awards 2023. The organizers presented 30 awards to outstanding works, including two first, nine second, six third, and 13 consolation prizes.

* On the morning of June 18, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) held a press conference to announce the first National Press Awards on Buddhism for 2024. These awards aim to recognize and honor journalists for their contribution to promoting information and images related to Buddhism. Participating press works must be published between January 1 and December 31, 2024. The award ceremony is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025. The organizers will present 17 awards, including a special prize worth VND 50 million.

* On June 18, the Vietnam Journalists' Association and the Vietnam News Agency launched a painting exhibition titled “99” to celebrate the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. The exhibition showcases over 130 works by eight journalists and painters, namely Nguyen Tien Le, Ngo Thanh Nhan, Do Huong, Huynh Dung Nhan, Vu Kim Son, Nguyen Nghiem, Nguyen Hong Nga, and Tieu Tan. The paintings cover various genres, such as still life, landscapes, portraits, abstracts, and daily life scenes, using materials like oil paint, acrylic, watercolor, and silk. The exhibition will run until June 26.
