Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Admiral Tran Thanh Nghiem highly appreciated the capacity and experience of the Ba Son Corporation in building and repairing naval vessels, expressing confidence that the newly built ships, once completed, will enhance the combat readiness and overall strength of the Naval Service.

He requested the Ba Son Corporation to concentrate all resources to accelerate the construction while ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements; to closely coordinate with relevant agencies and units to promptly address any arising issues; to strictly follow investment procedures without capital shortages; and to conduct acceptance in accordance with regulations, ensuring quality.

Senior Colonel Mai Quoc Truong, General Director of Ba Son Corporation, stated that the corporation mobilized all resources immediately upon receiving the assignment. This included finalizing design documents, material planning, and arranging personnel and facilities. Based on technical designs from the Naval Technical Institute, the corporation completed detailed drawings and technological procedures. All materials, including steel and aluminum plates, underwent rigorous inspection and certification to ensure specifications and schedules were met.

Construction of Ship A2 is proceeding as planned. The vessel was launched on October 28, 2025, and its keel laid on April 8, 2026, with delivery expected in September 2028. Progress has reached 13.6%, covering CNC cutting, block mold fabrication, and equipment procurement. Previously, Vice Admiral Tran Thanh Nghiem and a delegation inspected Ba Son Corporation to review the progress of military shipbuilding projects for the Naval Service.

In 2026, Ba Son Corporation will continue to focus resources on constructing key military vessels for the Naval Service as scheduled, while also undertaking the reception and repair of ships for the Navy and other units, ensuring timeliness, synchronization, improved technical coefficients, and enhanced combat readiness of equipment. The corporation is committed to implementing all shipbuilding projects on schedule and in accordance with quality requirements.
