Commando troops excel in farming
PANO - In addition to their ability to shoot accurately with both hands, high-level martial arts, and “invisible” combat skills, officers and soldiers of Commando Battalion 409 of Military Region 5 are also highly skilled in farming and animal husbandry.
Despite the harsh weather conditions, rows of green beans, sweet leaf bushes, eggplants, Malabar spinach, Chinese cabbage, and other vegetables in the unit garden remain lush and thriving.
Moreover, with nearly 600 chickens, ducks, geese, cows, and pigs, troops are able to enjoy a variety of fresh, homegrown dishes during holidays and Tet.
