The Department of Military Medicine under the General Department of Logistics held the meeting on COVID-19 prevention and control via video-conferencing, attracting more than 2,000 commanders of agencies, units and medical personnel.

An overview of the event

The meeting, under the chair of Major General Nguyen Xuan Kien, Director of the Department of Military Medicine, concluded that in the first quarter of this year, the military effectively controlled the COVID-19 pandemic. Attentively, since late April when the pandemic started developing in a complicated manner, the military has actively, resolutely, and effectively applied COVID-19 preventive measures to prevent the disease from spreading widely.

Delegates discussed the COVID-19 prevention and control activities, the building of safe hospitals with good measures against COVID-19 and other acute respiratory diseases, and how to manage and take care of troops’ health.

Participants at the meeting agreed on strictly observing the Health Ministry’s 5K regulations, boosting information dissemination about COVID-19 prevention and control measures and the pandemic’s development, activating the highest level of pandemic prevention, accelerating tracing of close contacts and conducting SAR-CoV-2 testing.

Also at the meeting, the participants were provided with skills, treatment methods, and how to handle situations when a COVID-19 case comes for a medical examination and treatment at military hospitals, infirmaries, and medical stations.
