Tay Ninh border guards urged to boost COVID-19 control and dissemination on elections
PANO - Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia visited the Tay Ninh Border Guard Command on May 10.
At the meeting, Senior Colonel Nguyen Tai Son, Political Commissar of the Command, briefed Nghia and his entourage on the command’s border management and protection and its COVID-19 prevention and control activities along the borderline.
The officer informed that 16 stations, 136 checkpoints, and 36 mobile control teams are operating in the province to control COVID-19.
The command was also reinforced with over 500 troops from the Vietnam Border Guard Command and the Military Region 7 Command in an effort to strictly monitor all border gates, trails, and open paths to prevent people from illegally entering and exiting the country and fighting crimes.
Having heard reports by the command’s leadership, Nghia applauded the local border guard force for their all-out efforts in the past.
He noted that Tay Ninh is a key locality, so forces should do their utmost to prevent the disease from spreading into the country via the border. He requested the border troops to promote information dissemination about COVID-19 prevention and control and elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and all-level people’s councils to raise a high sense of responsibility among troops and border people.
