Following a  plan of the Ministry of National Defense, the squad is tasked to collaborate with relevant forces in safeguarding national sovereignty over seas and islands, conducting marine patrols, mobilizing locals to follow the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies on defense-security affairs, and implementing search and rescue missions at sea.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Kien Giang Provincial People’s Committee Lam Minh Thanh required the Provincial Military Command to continue completing legal procedures for the operation of the militia squad, arranging accommodations and training fields for them, and raising their awareness of the Party’s viewpoints on protecting national sovereignty over seas and islands.

He urged the militia members to actively train to improve their capabilities and master all weapons and equipment to fulfill all assigned missions.
