* On February 16, 30 district-level localities of Hanoi held ceremonies to hand over troops to military units. The recruitment handover ceremony in Dong Anh district saw the attendance of Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Committee of Hanoi Dinh Tien Dung.

This year, the city’s localities strictly carried out recruitment work so as to select those meeting all criteria to serve in the military. Of the youths selected for military service this year, more than 25% have university, college and technical school degrees. 100% of the new enlistees have been provided with at least 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccine. In addition, localities also opened training courses on Party knowledge and national traditions for outstanding youth union members to motivate the recruits to be enthusiastically fulfill their duty towards the Fatherland.

* On February 16, in the presence of Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Ha Nam province carried out the recruitment plan as scheduled.

In 2022, Ha Nam province sends its recruits to the General Staff, the Ho Chi Minh President Mausoleum Guard Command, Military Region 3, Army Corps 1, the Signal Corps, and the Commando Corps.

The province has strictly followed recruitment procedures, including building recruitment plans, providing COVID-19 vaccine jabs to recruits, and testing for SARS-CoV-2 for all recruits before the handover day.

To date, all the six localities of Ha Nam province have completed the handover of recruits according to call-up.

* The same day, Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien attended the handover ceremony in Lang Son province.

As reported, the military service councils at all levels of the province strictly followed instructions in carrying out the recruitment work, ensuring equality, democracy, publicity, and in compliance with the law.

As a result, the province provided quality recruits for the military with more than 81% of them having graduated from high school. Especially, nearly 82% of the enlistees this year are ethnic minorities and the number of enlistees having attended Party knowledge courses is high.

By 8:40 a.m. on February 16, localities of Lang Son province had completed the handover of recruits, ensuring absolute safety with set targets met.

* In Bac Ninh province, Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh joined the see-off ceremony for new enlistees.

This year, 50% of the recruits of Bac Ninh are those who have volunteered to join the military. The rate of those with degrees of technical schools, colleges and universities is high, accounting for 17% of the whole enlistees.

* On the morning of February 16, Deputy Defense Minister, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong joined the handover ceremony of recruits in Ben Cat town of Binh Duong province. At the ceremony, the deputy minister encouraged the recruits of the town to actively train themselves, promote the locality’s traditions and fulfill all assigned missions.

General Luong then inspected the reception of recruits at Regiment 6 of the Military Command of Binh Duong province. During the inspection, he reminded the staff of the regiment to take care of new enlistees, helping them feel at home while serving at the unit.

* The same day, Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San attended the new enlistee handover ceremony of Nam Dinh province.

In 2022, Nam Dinh province sends recruits from 10 localities to 21 military units at the division- and brigade-levels. Accordingly, the enlistees of the province are of good health with more than 50% of them being high-school-degree holders while 4.1% of them have graduated from colleges and universities, and 22.4% of the recruits are Catholic followers. 

As planned, the province held 10 courses on Party knowledge and provided COVID-19 vaccine shots and RT-PCR tests for the new enlistees before the handover. The province also presented 494 savings books, worth more than VND 800 million, to recruits of families living in hardships.

* In Vinh Long province, Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam attended the send-off ceremony held for the province’s recruits.

To effectively carry out the recruitment plan in 2022, Vinh Long province has regularly inspected the implementation of the work. As a result, more than 10% of the new enlistees this year have graduated from colleges and universities. After being recruited, all the new enlistees were vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2 with more than 70% of them having been given three jabs. The localities have also presented gifts, worth nearly VND 4.8 billion in total, to enlistees’ families.

Apart from key localities with the attendance of high-ranking officials of the Party and military, various other provinces nationwide have also held see-off ceremonies for new enlistees in an exciting atmosphere and with absolute safety.
