Earlier on February 5, around 25 members of Military Hospital 175 had close contact with the 1979th COVID-19 case who had come to the hospital for health checkup. Immediately, the Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 3 sent its personnel to build a 100-bed field hospital for quarantining those with close contact with COVID-19 cases in Ho Chi Minh City. The hospital’s members also made and presented 200 litters of hand sanitizer to Military Hospital 175 for COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control.

In addition, personnel of the Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 3 thoroughly grasped directives of higher levels on COVID-19 prevention and control and strictly observed the Health Ministry’s 5K message: Khau trang (facemask), khu khuan (disinfection), khoang cach (distance), khong tu tap (no gathering), and khai bao y te (health declaration). During the Lunar New Year holiday, the hospital’s staff made around 200 chung cakes (Vietnamese traditional rice cake) for their colleagues in the quarantine area and erected a Neu pole (a tall bamboo tree with red garment strips used to ward off evil spirits during Tet) to spray for luck and peace.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out in Vietnam, members of the Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 3 have continuously improved their knowledge of COVID-19 and therapies to quickly and effectively respond to the pandemic. The hospital also hosted a training course on SARS-CoV-2 prevention and control and received more than 50 tones of goods to serve the work.
