Law dissemination promoted on Bach Long Vi Island
PANO - On March 12, in Hai Phong city’s Bach Long Vi island district, the Drug Crime Prevention and Control Task Force No.1 under the Vietnam Coast Guard Command, in coordination with other organizations, held a program to disseminate laws to people and fishermen living in the district.
On the occasion, the units focused on disseminating information about Vietnam law of the sea in 2012, Vietnam Coast Guard Law 2018, Border Guard Law 2020, and illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing prevention work, the harmful effects of drugs, among others.

Addressing the event, Chairman of the People’s Council of Bach Long Vi island district Nguyen Thi Bich underlined that Bach Long Vi Island holds a strategic position in defense-security and socio-economy. Local authorities want to join hands with border guard and coast guard forces and functional agencies to further raise residents’ awareness of laws and national sovereignty over sea and islands.

The organization panel’s working mission arrived in the island’s wharf to disseminate laws to 500 people and fishermen, and distributed over 1,000 law documents, presented 50 life-jackets and 100 national flags to local fishermen.
