PANO – A helicopter Mi-171 of the Air Force Regiment 917 under Division 370 of the Air Defence-Air Force Service on September 13th flew First Lieutenant Le Xuan Tung with serious illness from Tho Chu Island to Military Hospital 175 in Ho Chi Minh City despite heavy rain and strong wind.
Doctors of Military Hospital 175 confirmed that First Lieutenant Le Xuan Tung, aged 37, from Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An province, a non-commissioned officer of Battalion 551 of Naval Region 5, had food poisoning together with symptoms of blood poisoning.
This was among emergency flights conducted by Regiment 917 since early this year to transport many serious patients from Truong Sa Lon, Phu Quoc, Song Tu Tay and Tho Chu islands ashore for treatment.
