Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh cities asked to uphold military-defense tasks
PANO - The Ministry of National Defense (MND) held a meeting on May 2 on its collaboration with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh cities in conducting their defense-military tasks in line with cultural, social and economic development in the first quarter of 2018.
Deputy-Defense Minister, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don, head of the MND’s working group on the matter, chaired the event.
Since the beginning of this year, local military units and the localities embraced higher levels’ resolutions and policies on building firm defensive areas in the cities. The units provided effective advice for the local Party committees and authorities to better upgrade defense constructions.
The MND required the two cities’ armed forces to maintain high combat readiness postures, grasp all situations and collaborate with the public security forces to ensure political security and social order in their localities, contributing to fulfilling all assigned missions.
Concluding the meeting, General Don acknowledged and praised the achievements of the localities and units. He assigned the Operations Department of the General Staff to collaborate with relevant agencies of the MND and the two cities to propose concrete measures to fulfill their military-defense missions in the time to come.
