CMC rolls out key military-defense tasks
PANO - The Central Military Commission (CMC) on April 10 held a conference under the chair of Party General Secretary and CMC Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the Ministry of National Defense’s headquarters to review the military-defense task performance over the past time and roll out key military-defense tasks for the coming time.

The meeting was to work out a working program for 2017 of the Politburo and the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and the working mechanism of the CMC for the 2015-2020 tenure.
Present at the conference were Tran Dai Quang, member of the Politburo, State President, permanent member of the CMC; Nguyen Xuan Phuc, member of the Politburo, Prime Minister, permanent member of the CMC; General Ngo Xuan Lich, member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the CMC and Minister of National Defense.
Other permanent members of the CMC, members of the CMC, representatives from the Party Central Committee’s Office, the General Secretary’s Office and affiliated agencies of the CMC and the Ministry of National Defense also attended the event.
During the conference, the CMC reviewed outstanding outcomes of the implementation of military and defense missions over the past time and agreed to carry out several key military-defense tasks in the future with the aim of concentrating its leadership and direction on improving combined strength and combat readiness capabilities of the army, so as to meet requirements of Fatherland protection in the current context.
