Accordingly, in February, the GS directed the whole military to strictly ensure combat readiness, closely grasp situations, and effectively handle arising issues to firmly safeguard national sovereignty.

Meanwhile, units in the whole military effectively supported the defense minister and leaders to conduct missions in 2025. Meanwhile, the management and use of defense land and socio-economic development projects were carried out as regulated. The GS also directed functional units to conduct border patrols to prevent illegal border crossings, ensure aviation safety, and closely monitor unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and other aircraft.
Furthermore, units continued adjusting forces, merging, and finalizing the organization of operational and strategic-level units as planned.
The GS also directed affiliated units to successfully organize the military enlistment ceremonies this year, inspected preparations for training of units in the whole military, and reviewed defense work. It effectively carried out defense diplomacy, closely grasped electronic warfare situations, and ensured security and safety in communications.
In March, the GS will continue directing the whole military to strictly ensure combat readiness, implement an operational training plan in 2025, and inspect combat readiness posture shifting exercises, to name but a few.
Concluding the conference, General Nguyen Tan Cuong directed affiliated units to continue implementing the Conclusion of the Central Military Commission’s Standing Board on adjusting the organization of the Vietnam People’s Army in the 2021-2025 period and the following years. He also requested units to report on recruitment quality, organize the launch ceremony for training season, and strictly inspect the training work of units in the whole military.
Besides, units must finalize combat readiness plans and prepare forces for the military parade marking the Southern Liberation and National Reunification Day’s 50th anniversary, ensuring good quality and absolute safety, while making thorough preparations for the 9th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange, among others.
General Nguyen Tan Cuong asked the units to thoroughly prepare and successfully organize Party congresses at all levels while effectively implementing activities in celebration of the GS’s 80th founding anniversary.
