Defense Minister Phan Van Giang emphasized that over the past time, the coordination in research between the Central Theory Council and agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense in general and the GDP in particular has achieved significant results. They have given a theoretical and practical foundation for the Party and the State to formulate military and national defense policies that are closely aligned with reality; build a strong whole-people’s defense posture and a revolutionary, regular, elite, and gradually modernized Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) to firmly protect the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland. The obtained results have reflected the efforts, knowledge, dedication, and sense of responsibility of the two sides’ staff in studying and giving advice.

General Giang requested both sides to continue focusing on researching new developments in military, national defense, and Fatherland protection practices to make recommendations to the Politburo, Secretariat, and the Party Central Committee to issue policies, strategies, and approaches related to military and defense tasks.

The two sides should coordinate to research and review military and defense activities; assess the results of the implementation of the Party’s guidelines on building the whole-people’s defense disposition, the people’s warfare, especially the "people’s hearts” posture; and analyze theoretical and practical issues arising during the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress (2021-2025) on military, defense, and Fatherland protection. The defense leader requested the parties to pro-actively coordinate in study to propose military and defense contents to complete the draft political report of the 14th National Party Congress. Additionally, the two sides should continue to study contents related to protecting the Party’s ideological foundation and combating hostile forces’ conspiracies and activities.

General Giang said that the Ministry of National Defense expected to continue receiving advice and consensus from the leadership and scholars of the the Central Theory Council on building an elite, compact, and strong military, laying a solid foundation for building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modernized VPA 2030. 

At the event, Chairman of the Central Theory Council and President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang highlighted the results of the coordination between the two sides. He said that the outcomes are important foundation for them to make recommendations to the Party and the State to formulate strategies for building an elite, compact, and strong military and a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modernized military in the future.

The results of the coordination in research also offer valuable theoretical and practical foundations to propel the country into a new era – an era of the nation’s rise and to achieve strategic goals by 2030 for Vietnam to become a developing country with modern industry and a high-income economy, and by 2045, to become a developed country with high income. All citizens will enjoy comprehensive development, freedom, happiness, and civilization.

Concluding the conference, Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet said that the conference successfully completed its set contents and achieved its objectives. General Quyet praised relevant agencies for their proactive and active coordination in preparing for the conference. He requested the Department of Political Education and Information to coordinate with agencies, units, academies, and schools to disseminate the theoretical and practical research on military and defense in the Fatherland protection cause.
