Naval Service receives VND 10 billion to green Truong Sa
PANO - The Naval Service held a ceremony on February 11 in Hai Phong to receive VND 10 billion collected by the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB) via the HiGreen - For a green Truong Sa run.
Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Bong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Naval Service, and Senior Colonel Luu Trung Thai, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the MB, co-chaired the event.
Last year, the bank organized the HiGreen - For a green Truong Sa run, raising VND 10 billion to plant 100,000 trees in the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago via the Naval Service. This financial support will help increase the area of green trees in the archipelago. This meaningful deed will also contribute to improving the living environment of officers, soldiers, and people in the Truong Sa archipelago, helping them feel at ease to work, live, and hold on to the sea and islands.
At the event, Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Bong expressed thanks to MB’s cadres, personnel, and workers for their practical deeds and their support of programs on national sea and islands in general and to the Naval Service and Truong Sa soldiers and islanders in particular.
He hoped to receive continued support and coordination from MB in movements and activities towards national sea and islands.
