Speaking at the 2025 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) at JIExpo Kemayoran on February 22, Thohir said that he appreciates the commitment that VinFast has shown to Indonesia.
VinFast has begun to enter the public transportation sector by offering eco-friendly car services, including electric taxis that are already in operation at various locations under the name Xanh SM. In addition, the company plans to establish 30,000 charging stations in Indonesia this year.
Furthermore, VinFast is planning to set up a factory in Indonesia, which will have a positive impact on job creation for the community.
Thohir stated that this investment can contribute to economic growth and the development of the national electric vehicle industry, as well as open job opportunities for the Indonesian people.
With these steps, he expressed hope that the collaboration between VinFast and Indonesia can continue to grow, providing long-term benefits by boosting the electric vehicle industry and creating more environmentally friendly transportation options.
On that occasion, Thohir, who also serves as Chairman of Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with VinFast as a sponsor of the Indonesian national football team.
