PANO – On February 18, a delegation from the General Staff (GS) led by Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, inspected combat readiness and the organization of the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2026 activities at Battalion 93 under the Staff of the Engineering Corps, and Regiment 293 of Division 361 under the Air Defense - Air Force Service.

During the Tet holiday, the units strictly maintained combat readiness routines. Regularity building and discipline management showed positive progress, while logistics and technical support effectively met mission requirements. For combat readiness tasks before, during, and after Tet, agencies and units built and implemented higher levels’ directives and plans; organized rehearsals of combat readiness scenarios; and ensured proper maintenance of commanding officer, duty officer, and combat readiness shifts in accordance with regulations.

The units also strengthened situational awareness in their areas of responsibility and coordinated closely with local public security and other military units stationed in the area to maintain forces and equipment ready for maneuver and timely response to any contingencies. At the same time, they required troops to commit to strict discipline compliance, while fully ensuring all entitlements for soldiers during the Tet holiday.

Speaking at the inspection, Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan commended the unit’s troops for pro-actively and effectively implementing combat readiness tasks and organizing Tet 2026 activities. He requested that agencies and units continue to closely monitor the situation, firmly manage and protect the airspace, and ensure internal political security protection. He also emphasized maintaining strict daily and weekly routines, closely managing personnel and discipline, and strictly observing traffic safety regulations.
