Visiting the GDP, General Nguyen Tan Cuong noted that in 2025, the General Staff and the GDP maintained close coordination, providing timely advice to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on military, defense, and Party political missions. This cooperation significantly boosted the military’s overall achievements.
As 2026 marks the first year implementing the Resolutions of the 14th National Party Congress and the 12th Military Party Congress, General Nguyen Tan Cuong urged even tighter GDP-General Staff collaboration to build a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modernized military.
Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs General Nguyen Trong Nghia affirmed that effective coordination during 2024-2025 earned high praise from the Party, State, and people. He committed to continued close cooperation in advising on strategic issues under the new 14th National Party Congress Resolution.

Representatives at the General Department of Logistics and Technical Services reported comprehensive Tet preparations for personnel and policy beneficiaries. Delegations visited and gifted families of revolutionaries and those in need, with priority given to remote units, depots, and on-duty vehicle teams. This year’s holiday meal standards improved significantly while combat readiness remained strictly maintained.
General Nguyen Tan Cuong commended the department's performance following its recent merger, noting preserved internal unity and a collective commitment to missions. He praised the force for fulfilling both routine and unexpected tasks, specifically ensuring technical support despite aging equipment and parts shortages. The department proactively manufactured repair materials to maintain readiness, while ensuring timely logistics and secure reserves for all contingencies.

During his inspection at Brigade 144, General Nguyen Tan Cuong observed that the unit had strictly organized Tet duty with 100 percent personnel on standby. The unit also prepared gifts for soldiers to send to their families.
Addressing Brigade 144, the Chief of the General Staff commended its achievements in protecting key headquarters and targets. He urged the unit to monitor troops' morale, support those in need, and organize safe, economical, and cohesive Tet celebrations. He also emphasized maintaining strict duty readiness to prevent incidents, concluding with New Year greetings to the brigade's troops.
