Responsible for the management and protection of the national border in An Giang province, the provincial border guard force has coordinated closely with relevant authorities to strengthen measures against border violations, maintaining political security and social order in the designated areas.

In addition to managing over 147 km of land border, the province's border guard force also protects a maritime area of approximately 63,000 sq.km. This sea area borders the waters of Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand, and lies within international shipping lanes. Alongside promoting public awareness and strictly handling violations, the provincial Border Guard Command has directed its stations and posts to concentrate personnel and resources on combating smuggling activities and the illegal transport of goods.
