GS’s Chief inspects security protection for upcoming celebration
PANO – Chief of the General Staff (GS) and Deputy Defense Minister General Nguyen Tan Cuong inspected forces’ observance of combat readiness to ensure security for activities in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification in Ho Chi Minh City on April 26.
In preparation for the event, agencies and units have developed comprehensive combat readiness plans to ensure the security during the celebration. They have strictly maintained duty shifts, thoroughly rehearsed response scenarios, closely followed the situation, been prepared to promptly handle any incidents in a timely and effective manner, and enhanced inspection to prevent illegal entry and exit activities.

In addition, the management and monitoring of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and low-flying targets have been enhanced. Public communication efforts highlighting the event’s historical significance have also been promoted, creating widespread impact and deep impression on citizens and visitors both at home and abroad. Forces participating in the parade have conducted serious rehearsals, showcasing the strength of the armed forces and the military.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong acknowledged and praised the forces for their effective implementation of combat readiness tasks. He asked the forces to continue to strictly carry out the guard duty at key locations; pro-actively coordinate with units inside and outside the military; develop specific response plans; be prepared to respond to unexpected situations.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong particularly stressed the importance of monitoring and controlling UAVs, keeping a close watch over cyberspace activities, preventing hostile forces from spreading misinformation and undermining the Party, State, and military. He also demanded absolute safety for all activities during the celebration.
