General Phan Van Giang and the delegation paid visits to and offered flowers and incense in respectful remembrance of former Party General Secretary and former Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs Le Kha Phieu, former State President and former Defense Minister Le Duc Anh, former Defense Ministers General Vo Nguyen Giap, General Van Tien Dung, and General Phung Quang Thanh, and former Chiefs of the General Staff and former Deputy Defense Ministers General Le Trong Tan and General Hoang Van Thai.

Paying respect to the late leaders, General Phan Van Giang and the delegation expressed deep gratitude for their great contribution to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, military building, defense consolidation and Fatherland protection.

Talking with the families of former leaders, General Phan Van Giang emphasized that the immense contribution of these predecessors helped forge heroic and indomitable victories, especially the historic triumph of the Spring 1975 General Offensive and Uprising, which reunified the country. This remains a source of national pride for present and future generations to study and follow.

Later the same day, General Phan Van Giang visited and extended best wishes to Lieutenant General Dang Quan Thuy, a Hero of the People’s Armed Forces and former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly.

After briefing him on notable achievements in recent military and defense task performance, General Phan Van Giang wished Lt. Gen. Dang Quan Thuy good health and hoped that the former leader would keep contributing valuable opinions to contribute to building an increasingly strong Vietnam People’s Army, capable of fulfilling all tasks entrusted by the Party, State, and people.
