Defense leader inspects combat readiness at Military Region 7’s unit
PANO - On April 17, a delegation from the Ministry of National Defense, led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Quang Ngoc, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, conducted an inspection of combat readiness at Regiment 271, Division 5, Military Region 7, ahead of the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - 2025) and International Workers’ Day (May 1).
Regiment 271 has thoroughly grasped and strictly implemented the orders issued by the Military Region 7 Commander, along with directives and plans from higher levels regarding combat readiness missions. The unit has pro-actively raised awareness and implemented training for its officers and soldiers to ensure their grasping of the situation and tasks and mastery of tactics and technical affairs, while also giving due attention to improving their material and spiritual life.

The regiment has regularly practiced combat readiness scenarios, maintained sufficient logistical supplies and technical equipment, and ensured close coordination with relevant forces to remain ready for rapid deployment and effective response to any contingency.

Following the inspection and hearing the unit’s briefing, Lieutenant General Nguyen Quang Ngoc urged the regiment to seriously review and address the shortcomings identified during the inspection. He emphasized the need for the unit to continue thoroughly implementing directives, orders, and guidelines from higher levels.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Quang Ngoc also asked the regiment to pro-actively supplement its training plans to match the evolving situation and mission requirements. The unit must organize intensive drills to ensure the mastery of response scenarios, effectively handle potential situations, safeguard assigned targets, and maintain high readiness for swift deployment upon orders.
