The report at the conference highlighted that, in September, the General Staff directed the entire military to strictly maintain combat readiness, closely grasp all situations, promptly provide advice and effectively handle circumstances to firmly safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and ensure the safety of maritime economic activities. The units strictly observed flight safety measures, managed information in cyberspace, guaranteed timely communication for the direction of the whole military, and coordinated to maintain security and order nationwide, particularly during the country’s important holidays.

Notably, the General Staff directed forces to successfully fulfill the tasks of organizing the military parade celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2), leaving a good impression on the people and international friends. Training, exercises, and competitions were conducted in line with the set program and plans. The whole military strictly ensured weapons and equipment for all missions while maintaining readiness for rescue and disaster relief. Other activities, such as defense external affairs, international cooperation, and participation in United Nations peacekeeping operations were carried out effectively as scheduled.

Addressing the conference, General Nguyen Tan Cuong praised the agencies and units for their efforts in successfully accomplishing September’s missions. He requested that, in October, units continue to strictly maintain combat readiness, closely follow and grasp situations, especially in key areas; strengthen patrols and prevent illegal border crossings and subversive activities of hostile forces; coordinate to maintain national security and social order; ensure information safety and cyber security; and strictly uphold readiness for rescue and disaster relief operations.

He also emphasized the need to finalize organizational structures, functions, and working relations of newly established agencies and units; as well as to build plans for recruiting new soldiers for 2026. General Cuong asked units to strengthen inspections, uphold military discipline, and improve political and ideological education for officers and soldiers. Particularly, agencies and units must accelerate digital transformation, while building training plans to enhance troops’ digital skills in line with their functions and missions.
