Over the past period, the Party Committee and Command of Military Region 2 have led and directed the comprehensive and effective implementation of military and defense tasks. The military region has pro-actively coordinated with local party committees and authorities to closely monitor the situation in the area, promptly handle arising situations, and ensure security and safety during major holidays and important political events. It has also effectively performed its core role in building defensive areas and strengthening the all-people national defense posture associated with the people’s security posture and the whole-people border posture.

Military Region 2 joined the efforts in the installation of a pontoon bridge over the Lo River in Doan Hung commune, Phu Tho province to facilitate local travel and socio-economic development.

Party and political work activities have been implemented synchronously, comprehensively, closely, and effectively. The military region successfully completed inspections by the Politburo and the Secretariat regarding the implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, Directive No.01, and Directive No.46 of the Politburo. It also effectively directed affiliated units to participate in the elections of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 tenure in a serious, thorough, and safe manner. In addition, the conference on implementing the “500-day-and-night campaign to accelerate the search, collection, and identification of martyrs’ remains” in the military region achieved positive results.

An overview of the working session

Addressing the working session, General Nguyen Trong Nghia highly appreciated the recent achievements of Military Region 2. The military region was also urged to pro-actively respond to natural disasters and conduct search and rescue operations; develop response plans; strengthen political education and ideological orientation for troops; and effectively organize activities marking the 80th anniversary of the foundation day of Military Region 2 and the reception of the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces.”
