The event was to mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day.
At House 67 within the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace, General Phan Van Giang and members of the delegation solemnly offered incense to pay tribute to the contribution of President Ho Chi Minh, a genius leader, a national liberation hero, and the founder, leader, and trainer of the heroic Vietnam People’s Army (VPA).
General Phan Van Giang and the delegation offered incense in tribute to former Party General Secretary Le Kha Phieu; former State President Le Duc Anh; former Ministers of National Defense Generals Vo Nguyen Giap, Van Tien Dung, Phung Quang Thanh; former Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) General Chu Huy Man; former Chiefs of the General Staff and Deputy Ministers of National Defense Generals Le Trong Tan and Hoang Van Thai; and former Deputy Chief of the GDP Lieutenant General Le Hai.
In the solemn and respectful atmosphere, before the spirits of the predecessors, General Phan Van Giang and the delegation expressed their boundless gratitude and deep appreciation for the immense contributions and sacrifices of the former leaders to the revolutionary cause of the Party, the nation, and the building of the VPA.
General Phan Van Giang also took time to inquire after the families of the late leaders, encouraging them to preserve their health, uphold the family tradition, and continue contributing to the country’s development and the growth of the military.
On the same day, General Phan Van Giang visited and presented gifts to Generals Pham Van Tra and Ngo Xuan Lich; Lt. Gen. Dang Quan Thuy, during which he briefed the former leaders on the outstanding military and defense results as well as the important missions currently being implemented by the CMC and MND. These include training, rehearsals, and final preparations to ensure the successful organization of the parade and other security tasks for the celebration of the 80th National Day.
On this occasion, General Giang wished Generals Pham Van Tra and Ngo Xuan Lich, and Lt. Gen. Dang Quan Thuy good health, and expressed his hope that they would continue to provide valuable advice and wholehearted support for strengthening the VPA, enabling it to successfully fulfill the missions entrusted by the Party, the State, and the people.
