He presented gifts and conveyed greetings to former Defense Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich; Lt. Gen. Phan Thu, Hero of the People’s Armed Forces, former Deputy Minister of National Defense; and former Deputy Minister of National Defense Sr. Lt. Gen. Le Huu Duc.
During the visits, General San expressed gratitude for their significant contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the military building. He also briefed them on recent military and defense activities, noting that on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, the military has been conducting various programs, including gratitude and social policy initiatives for national contributors.
He voiced hope that the former leaders would continue to support officers and soldiers across the armed forces, providing valuable guidance to help fulfill all assigned tasks.

In the afternoon of the same day in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of National Defense Sr. Lt. Gen. Le Huy Vinh, together with a delegation from the Central Military Commission (CMC) and MND, visited and honored former senior leaders.

He met with Sr. Lt. Gen. Be Xuan Truong, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and President of the Vietnam Veterans’ Association, former Deputy Minister of National Defense. He also offered incense in commemoration of Sr. Lt. Gen. Dang Vu Hiep, Hero of the People’s Armed Forces, former Deputy Minister of National Defense, and former Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP); and Lt. Gen. Tran Hanh, Hero of the People’s Armed Forces, former Deputy Minister of National Defense.
In a warm and respectful atmosphere, General Vinh briefed General Truong on the military’s recent tasks and activities in celebration of the National Day. He wished the former leader good health and encouraged him to continue contributing his wisdom and experience to the Party’s revolutionary cause, to the Fatherland Front, and to the Vietnam Veterans’ Association, helping strengthen national solidarity and defense.

The families of the late generals expressed heartfelt thanks for the attention of the CMC and MND, affirming their commitment to carrying forward revolutionary family traditions and contributing to the building and defense of the Fatherland.
Also on August 27, delegations of the CMC and MND, led by GDP’s Deputy Chief Sr. Lt. Gen. Le Quang Minh, paid tribute to former leaders of the Party, State, and military.
