During the 10 years of building and growth, under the leadership of the Military Central Commission, the Ministry of National Defense (MND), directly the Party Committee of the General Staff - Organs of the MND, together with the support from ministries, departments, party committees, local authorities, people and international organizations, as well as the close collaboration between agencies and units inside and outside the military, the department has promoted good virtues and glorious traditions of the Vietnam People’s Army; stayed united, overcome difficulties and successfully accomplished tasks of researching, giving advice to higher levels, conducting training and exercises, command and management, and managing task implementation of the military force in U.N. peacekeeping operations, contributing to successfully carrying out the Party and State’s foreign policy and guidelines, raising Vietnam’s position and prestige in the international arena, and making active contribution to the cause of national construction and defense.
The defense minister praised the outcomes and great efforts of the department over the past decade, hoping that in the new revolutionary period, it would continue to uphold obtained achievements; further study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and lifestyle and the campaign “Promoting tradition, dedicating talent, deserving to be Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new period", and exert more efforts to fulfill all assigned missions.
Meanwhile, the department’s officers, soldiers and employees should promote the building of a strong and healthy Party organization associated with the building of a comprehensively-strong, typical and exemplary unit, contributing to the efforts of the Party, whole military and people in implementing the 13th National Party Congress' resolution.
In conclusion, General Phan Van Giang wished all of them good health, happiness, and more achievements.
