PANO - The General Department of Politics (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army held the combat readiness posture shifting drill 2019 for the four departments of Mass Mobilization, Policy, Politics and Logistics under the GDP on August 1 in Hanoi.
Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Phuong Nam, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, and Lieutenant General Le Hien Van, Deputy Director of the GDP, co-chaired the exercise with participants from the four departments.
The exercise aimed to evaluate abilities of the chains-of-command of the participating units in directing their subordinates to follow the procedures for combat readiness shifting.
During the drill, the participants practiced shifting their units from the regular combat readiness posture to higher levels according to assumed scenarios designed in line with the reality. The participants were also required to closely follow situational developments, deal with arising issues and coordinate with each other in performing their missions.
After the exercise, participants had a meeting to draw lessons to perform better in the next drill.
