In his speech, General Cuong requested defense agencies and military units to organize meetings to review the five-year implementation of the Politburo’s Directive No. 5 on promoting the movement “Studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morals and lifestyle.”

They were also asked to actively follow situational developments in and outside the military, make accurate forecasts of the future situation, orient troops and people toward correct information, protect the Party’s ideological foundation, and fight wrongful, hostile, and reactionary viewpoints.

Another task in May is to complete their action program to realize the resolutions adopted at the 11th Military Party Congress and the 13th National Party Congress as well as working regulations of the Central Military Commission for the 2020-2025 term.

Notably, they must strictly observe regulations on security, internal political protection, secret protection and safety guarantee while enhancing mass mobilization in remote and mountainous areas.

Apart from participating in the aforementioned elections in accordance with national laws, defense agencies and military units should focus on combat readiness, training, force regularity building, and fire prevention, natural disaster relief and COVID-19 prevention and control.
