In 2023, the agencies and units comprehensively completed all assignments, and thoroughly grasped the directives and instructions of higher levels on combat readiness and lunar New Year 2024 celebrations while building measures for fire and explosive prevention and control, among others.

This year, Gen. Quyet required them to focus on fulfilling political missions; maintaining combat readiness status; making good preparations for activities to celebrate the lunar New Year; taking good care of the life quality of troops, staff, and policy beneficiaries; inquiring after former leaders; and coordinating with party committees and authorities at all level to conduct gratitude activities for national contributors.

* On the same day, a delegation of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and the Ministry of National Defense (MND), led by GDP Deputy Chief Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Gau, visited the Naval Region 2 Command, the Coast Guard Region 3 Command, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau provincial Military and Border Guard Commands, Brigade 167, Naval Squadron 301, and Long Son Border Post.

During the working sessions, Gen. Gau praised the great efforts of the units in their task performance, requiring them to promote education work to raise troops’ awareness and heighten their determination, thereby successfully accomplishing all assigned missions in 2024.

In addition, the units should strictly implement directives of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, the Prime Minister, the MND, and instructions of the General Staff and GDP on combat readiness and lunar New Year 2024 celebrations, to name but a few.

On behalf of the CMC and GDP leaders, Gen. Gau handed over gifts and extended Tet greetings to troops of the military units, wishing them a new year of happiness, health, and task accomplishment.

* On this day, GDP Deputy Chief Lt. Gen. Le Quang Minh led a delegation to inspect Defense-Economic Unit 337 and Regiment 19 of Division 968 under Military Region 4.

Last year, the units comprehensively and synchronously implemented military-defense tasks; engaged in socio-economic development activities, natural disaster prevention, search and rescue operations; effectively applied technology and science to practice and live-fire exercise; and helped local people develop economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, among others.

Gen. Minh required the two units to organize the lunar New Year 2024 celebrations in accordance with the Defense Minister’s instructions; closely follow local situational developments to ensure political security and social order and safety; and carry out many practical activities for policy beneficiaries, ethnic minority people, and needy troops.
