In the first half of 2026, the Vietnam Border Guard has strictly ensured combat readiness, firmly protected national sovereignty and border security, and effectively combated crimes. The force has also actively engaged in disaster prevention, search and rescue operations, mass mobilization, and digital transformation. Emulation campaigns have been extensively deployed at the grassroots level, encouraging troops to fulfill their assigned tasks.

General Nguyen Trong Nghia highly evaluated the force’s achievements and emphasized the leadership role of the Vietnam Border Guard Party Committee’s Standing Board and commanders at all levels. He noted that the entire force has strictly implemented directives from the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, and closely grasped situations to accomplish their missions in line with the two-tier local government model.

The Party Committee and Chain-of-Command of the Vietnam Border Guard pro-actively made recommendations to higher levels on strategies to protect sovereignty over borders, sea, and islands while enhancing defense and border diplomacy.
