Engineering Corps officially has new political commissar
PANO - The Party Committee and Command of the Engineering Corps held a duty handover ceremony on May 31 under the chair of Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Deputy Director of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP).

At the event, Major General Le Xuan Cat handed over the post and duty of Political Commissar to Senior Colonel Dinh Ngoc Tuong. General Cat will be retired as regulated.
Addressing the event, Lt. Gen. Trinh Van Quyet confirmed that the Standing Board of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and leadership of the GDP highly appreciated the merits and contribution of Maj. Gen. Le Xuan Cat to the building and development of the Engineering Corps.
General Quyet affirmed that during his tenure, Gen. Cat was always the nucleus of unity of the Party Committee and Chain-of-Command of the Engineering Corps and close and thoughtful to troops. He knew how to arouse and promote collective strength, ensured that the corps always undertook and completed all assignments by the Party, the State and the military.

The GDP deputy director expressed his hope and belief that in the new post, Senior Colonel Dinh Ngoc Tuong will team with the corps’ Party Committee and Command to continue to bring into play traditions, comprehensively lead and direct the unit’s duties, create solidarity, unity, and maintain principles in all aspects.
In addition, Colonel Tuong will contribute to improving effectiveness and efficiency of the Party and political work and pay due attention to building a typical strong Engineering Corps and a comprehensively-strong unit.
Authorized by the Standing Board of the Central Military Commission, leadership of the Ministry of National Defense and GDP, Gen. Quyet signed documents of confirmation of duty handover between the Engineering Corps’ former and new political commissars.
