Duty handover conference between MR9’s political commissars held
PANO – The Military Region 9 (MR9) Command on February 23 held a duty handover conference between its former and new political commissars under the chair of Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) General Luong Cuong.
Earlier, the Prime Minister signed Decision No.135/QD-TTg promoting MR9’s Political Commissar Major General Nguyen Van Gau to the GDP’s Deputy Chief, and Decision No.136/QD-TTg promoting Political Chief of MR9 Major General Ho Van Thai to Political Commissar of the military region.

During the event, under the witness of GDP and MR9 leaders, General Gau handed over his task to General Thai.
Addressing the conference, General Cuong hailed the preparation for the event of MR9’s Party Committee and Command, showing the responsibility and solidarity of the whole region.
General Cuong expressed his delight at the development of MR9’s armed forces over the past years. In 2021, despite the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the command instructed its troops to overcome difficulties to fulfill all assigned missions.

The GDP’s chief also noted that 2022 marks the successful implementation of the resolutions of Party congresses at all levels, amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic and malicious plots to promote the “peaceful evolution” strategy. General Cuong requested MR9’s Party Committee and Command to raise training and combat readiness quality to meet all requirements in the cause of national protection in the current context. Meanwhile, the military region should also attach much importance to the implementation of the resolutions of Party congresses at all levels with high quality.

Meanwhile, it was also asked to closely work with relevant forces in the areas where they are stationed so as to fight plots of hostile forces, actively take part in natural disaster prevention and poverty reduction, while building the firm “people's heart” posture.
General Cuong expressed his belief that in their new positions, Generals Gau and Tai would do their utmost to make great contribution to the military.
