The event was attended by Deputy Chief of the General Staff Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang.

Speaking at the event, Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang emphasized that over the past year the Department of Electronic Warfare has made recommendations to the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and the General Staff to issue guidelines and measures to comprehensively, effectively, and firmly build the force.

The general said that the establishment of Electronic Warfare Brigade 96 marked a new development of the electronic warfare force of the Vietnam People’s Army. The brigade and other electronic warfare units in the locality and relevant forces will form a firm formation to help the force to propose measures and deal with circumstances in the Central – Central Highlands region and successfully complete all assigned missions.

General Thang asked the Department of Electronic Warfare to lead and direct the brigade to soon stabilize the organization, facilities, and barracks. Electronic Warfare Brigade 96 should focus on grasping and well implementing resolutions, orders, directives, decisions, and guidance of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense, General Staff, and Department of Electronic Warfare on military and defense missions in 2023; foster education to build troops’ firm political stance and determination to fulfill assigned missions; build revolutionary, regular, elite, and modernized unit; enhance the leadership capability and combat power of party committees, party cells, and party members.

The deputy chief of the General Staff requested the unit to strictly observe orders of the Ministry of National Defense and directives of the General Staff on combat readiness; adjust and complete personnel affairs, maintain and strictly carry out combat readiness, and foster cooperation with other local forces to successfully fulfill assigned missions.
