Under the Prime Minister’s Decision No.1398/QD-TTg dated June 27, 2025, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Hien, Commander of the ADAF Service, was appointed Deputy Defense Minister. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s Decision No.1409/QD-TTg dated June 28, 2025 was on the appointment of Maj. Gen. Vu Hong Son, the Service’s Deputy Commander as the Service’s Commander.
At the event, Gen. Hien handed over the duties of the Commander of the ADAF Servive to Gen. Son.

Gen. Giang acknowledged and applauded the Service’s Party Committee and Chain-of-Command for their successful leadership and direction over the task implementation of the Service. He emphasized the Service’s strict observance of combat readiness regulations, good management of the nation’s airspace and flights, successful organization of exercises, and timely suggestions to higher levels to deal with contingencies. The defense chief attributed these outcomes to the contribution of both Gen. Hien and Gen. Son.
Gen. Giang asked Gen. Son to promote the Service’s accomplishments, promptly lead the building of a comprehensively strong service and the improvement of combat readiness quality, as well as adjust combat documents to be aligned with the two-tier administration model, particularly air defense and defensive area postures.

The Defense Minister also requested the service to accelerate application of advanced science and technology, renovation, digital transformation; strengthen solidarity and unity; and effectively implement remaining tasks of the year, especially the preparation and organization of the Congress of the Service’s Party Organization for the 2025-2030 tenure.
