In a report on the corps’ task implementation in 2022 and the first month of 2023, its Commander Major General Ha Van Cu affirmed that over the past time the chemical force has regularly grasped, assessed, and accurately forecast the situation, proactively and promptly advised the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to effectively handle issues related to weapons of mass destruction. The corps has participated in researching and formulating the Politburo’s Resolution on the development and application of biotechnology to serve the country's sustainable development in the new situation; drafting the Law on Civil Defense; building Project on capacity development to respond to natural disasters and search and rescue by 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Along with strictly maintaining combat readiness and ensuring absolute safety during holidays and important national events, chemical units have actively renewed contents and methods of combat readiness training; well coordinated in organizing civil defense exercises, command and staff exercises on map with field components. In addition, agencies and units have effectively conducted scientific research. Their products have fully met the requirements of tactical and technical features and been highly evaluated by science and technology councils and certified.

The work of building the Party organization and the corps with political strength has achieved positive results. Troops in the whole force have shown their readiness to undertake and fulfill all assigned tasks.

Speaking at the working session, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam praised the Chemical Corps for its outstanding results in 2022 and the first month of 2023 and pointed out shortcomings that need addressing in the coming time.

Regarding tasks in 2023 and the time to come, the deputy minister of national defense asked the Chemical Corps to continue to be proactive and improve its ability to forecast developments related to chemistry, biology, and radiation, and nuclear science to advise the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of Defense to promptly handle all situations in a timely manner. 

He urged to the Chemical Corps to enhance the armed forces’ capability of preventing and combating the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and responding to chemical, biological, radioactive, and nuclear incidents and to build the force to meet the requirements of its mission.

The deputy defense minister asked the force to strictly maintain combat readiness; coordinate to perform civil defense tasks and proactively respond to non-traditional challenges; organize drills; seriously implement higher level’s resolutions and plans on streamlining the military in the 2021-2030 period and the following years; procure, produce, and innovate weapons and equipment in 2023.

Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam requested the force to conduct training synchronously, in-depth, close to reality and ensure strict observance of discipline to ensure safety during training and task performance.
