Particularly, the combat readiness capability of the militia and self-defense forces has been enhanced increasingly, contributing remarkably to protecting the national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, building whole people’s defense and people’s defense capabilities and creating favorable conditions for economic development.

However, there remain several shortcomings which needs to be overcome soon with appropriate solutions, the report revealed.

Delegates agreed that the amendment of the law in line with the current context is essential, thus creating a synchronization with relevant disciplines and meeting the requirements for the training and development of the civil self-defense and militia forces.

Speaking at the event, General Giang highly valued proposals of participating delegates on the amendment of the law. He suggested that the relevant units and localities should continue giving their opinions to complete the new law on civil self-defense and militia forces, then to have it issued as scheduled.
