Defense Ministry meets with military deputies of the National Assembly
PANO - Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem, Deputy Defense Minister, chaired the Ministry’s online meeting with military officer-deputies of the National Assembly prior to the 9th session of the 14th National Assembly.
Attending the event were leaders of the General Staff of the Vietnamese People's Army, the General Department of Politics, military officer-deputies deputies of the National Assembly, and other representatives of MND's functional agencies.

The meeting was to brief the military officer-deputies on the results of the military-defense task performance over the past several months, the implementation of the Prime Minister's Directives No.15 and 16 and 19 on COVID-19 prevention, and troops' activities in the fight against the pandemic.
The event also informed the delegates on the agenda of the upcoming working session, developments of the domestic and international situations, and the results of leadership and direction of the Central Military Commission's Standing Committee, and the Ministry of National Defense on mobilizing forces to participate in local activities.
Representatives of the Border Guard Command and the MND's Legislative Department reported the military officer-deputies on the draft Law on Border Guard and the International Agreement, as well as the revised Law on Residence.
Addressing the event, General Chiem acknowledged and highly appreciated the entire military's efforts in implementing the military and defense tasks in the first 4 months of 2020. In particular, the military successfully completed several missions, thereby contributing to promoting its status and reputation, deserving the trust of the Party, State and people.
General Chiem also asked the military deputies of the National Assembly to continue to improve their sense of responsibility, and actively contribute opinions to the upcoming working session' documents.
