Defense Ministry meets with military deputies of the National Assembly
PANO – Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem, Deputy Defense Minister chaired the Ministry of National Defense’s meeting on May 19 with military deputies of the National Assembly prior to the seventh session of the 14th National Assembly which is scheduled to take place from May 20 to June 13.
The meeting was to brief the military deputies on the agenda of the upcoming working session, draft law on military and defense, developments of the domestic and international situations, and the socio-economic development and military and defense task implementation over the past time.
Addressing the event, General Chiem emphasized the importance of the upcoming working session which will discuss and adopt several draft laws and legal documents on military and defense.

According to Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army, the seventh session of the 14th National Assembly will consider and pass seven bills and two resolutions, and debate nine other draft laws. He added that to-be-discussed important issues involve various social aspects and affect the development of businesses and the life of people, so military deputies should embrace the topics to contribute their valuable ideas to legal documents and strictly observe working rules and schedules.
Having listened to deputies’ opinions, General Chiem asked them to promote a high sense of responsibility and the role of a military deputy to contribute good ideas and to strictly follow the National Assembly’s regulations.
