Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang addresses the event. |
In his speech, General Giang applauded the general department’s great efforts and achievements made last year, especially in ship-building and explosive production.
Regarding the unit’s major duties for this year, the defense minister emphasized that apart from giving advice on the implementation of the Politburo’s Resolution No.08, the general department should disseminate the resolution and other resolutions of the 13th National Party Congress and the 11th Military Party Congress to its personnel. It should also focus on fostering high-quality human resources and leading experts in specific field.
Together with boosting digital transformation and innovation, General Giang asked the unit to proactively, closely, and effectively cooperate with other agencies and units to improve quality and efficiency of scientific research work, produce more modern weapons and equipment to meet training and combat readiness requirements of the whole military.
In addition, it was required to pay more attention to dual-use production, to both effectively serve the military and defense tasks and actively contribute to the development of the national economy.
