Addressing the event, General Lich congratulated the entire commando force on its achievements over the year.
The Defense Minister emphasized that the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense always pay special attention to and expect much from the commando force. Therefore, to fulfill their assignments, the Party Committee and leaders of the Commando Corps should continue to direct the corps’ affiliates to overcome all difficulties, maintain combat readiness regulations, and follow closely situational developments in the localities they are stationed.
The affiliates should work closely with other forces to ensure safety for activities of leaders of the Party, the State and the military as well, Lich added.
General Lich highly valued the corps’ effective measures to improve the synergy and combat strength of commando units and praised its affiliates for their successful training programs and exercises with high quality and in line with mission requirements.
He urged them to continue to devise effective plans to handle all arising issues and possible scenarios.
Stressing that the mission of safeguarding the Fatherland and national maritime sovereignty places heavy demands on the entire Party, people, political system, and the military, including the commando force, General Lich asked the corps to embrace and carry out military-defense strategies, realize the Resolution adopted at the 11th Military Party Congress and to build a Party organization of the Corps strong in politics, ideology, organization, and morality to deserve to be a special corps.
The defense minister expressed his hope that with its glorious tradition, the commando corps and its troops will obtain more achievements in the time ahead to deserve the trust of the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and people.
Earlier, General Lich and his entourage offered incense and flowers to commemorate fallen commando troops at the memorial house dedicated to them, visited the Museum of Commando Force and wrote on the visitors’ book.
