Reportedly, in May, the Central Military Commission (CMC)’s Standing Committee and the Ministry of National Defense (MND) directed the whole military to accomplish military and defense affairs. Accordingly, they maintained combat readiness, firmly protected national sovereignty, closely worked with relevant forces to ensure safety for important events, especially SEA Games 31.

In addition, units in the whole military mobilized troops to help Northern provinces to overcome flood aftermath, prevent illegal crossings, fight smuggling and drug-related crimes. Especially, Resolution No.05-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the organization of the Vietnam People’s Army in the 2021-2030 period and the following years were also synchronously conducted.
Besides, the MND has instructed the whole military to well perform training and education with high quality, review the implementation of the CMC’s Resolution No.765-NQ/QUTW on raising the quality of training in the 2013-2020 period and the following years, while ensuring military discipline observance. Meanwhile, Party and political work has been effectively carried out with the implementation of Resolution No.847-NQ/QUTW on promoting virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and fighting individualism in the current context.

Furthermore, the implementation of other work like international integration and defense diplomacy, logistics and technical services, and other tasks has also enjoyed fruitful achievements.
Concluding the conference, the defense minister acknowledged and hailed the units’ task performance in May, and pointed out shortcomings and limitations.
In order to fulfill military and defense task in June, General Giang requested units in the whole military to strictly maintain combat readiness, closely coordinate with functional forces to ensure security and social order nationwide, and conduct search and rescue operations.
In addition, they should further focus on training, political education, mass mobilization, international integration and defense diplomacy, and preparation for the politico-military conference in the first six months of the year, to name but a few.
