MND combines military-defense tasks with socio-economic development in Ho Chi Minh City
PANO – The Ministry of National Defense (MND) and the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City held a conference on June 12 to review the outcomes of their coordination in conducting military-defense tasks in combination with socio-economic development in the Southern hub.
The event was co-chaired by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong and Deputy Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Bui Xuan Cuong.

During the event, delegates thoroughly discussed each content, identifying existing difficulties and obstacles and agreeing on methods to effectively implement specific tasks. In the coming time, the working groups of the MND and the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee will continue researching, implementing, and resolving six specific projects and contents.
Speaking at the conference, General Luong commended and highly appreciated the members of the two working groups for their pro-active and effective cooperation in carrying out military and defense tasks in combination with socio-economic development in the city in recent times. All resolved issues have yielded positive results and complied with legal regulations.

He urged relevant departments and units under the MND to thoroughly understand the Party’s resolutions, the State’s laws, and the MND’s policies; and to closely coordinate with Ho Chi Minh City’s departments and sectors to proactively tackle challenges, expedite project implementation, and ensure legal and procedural compliance. These efforts, he emphasized, will enhance the effective execution of military and defense tasks in tandem with socio-economic development, contributing to the creation of a civilized, modern, compassionate, and sustainable Ho Chi Minh City with comprehensively strong armed forces.
