In the first six months of this year, MR4 has comprehensively carried out military and defense tasks. The region has directed its agencies and units to make thorough preparations for the merger of the Military Commands of Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces into the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command. It has also closely coordinated with the provincial Border Guard Command to prepare for the establishment of a Border Guard Board under the provincial-level Military Command, among other activities.

Following the inspection, Lt. Gen. Nguyen Quang Ngoc requested MR4 to strictly comply with combat readiness regulations, maintain a firm grasp of the situation to respond to any scenario, and implement higher-level directives on the reorganization of local military agencies under the two-tier administrative system.
* On the same day, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Sr. Lt. Gen. Huynh Chien Thang conducted an inspection at Military Region 1 (MR1).
In particular, the delegation reviewed the progress of organizational restructuring and force development; the review, adjustment, supplementation, and development of operational documents; training activities; plans for managing and utilizing defense land; and dissemination and education on the implementation of the two-tier administrative system. The inspection took place at the MR1 Command, the Military Commands of Thai Nguyen, Bac Kan, and Lang Son provinces, as well as the Lang Son provincial Border Guard Command.

Concluding the inspection, Sr. Lt. Gen. Huynh Chien Thang praised MR1’s preparations and implementation of the reorganization of local military agencies. He urged the aforementioned units to maintain high combat readiness, ensure adequate personnel, weapons, equipment, vehicles, and secure communications for all missions, and effectively carry out Party and political work.
The units were also asked to provide timely recommendations to higher-level authorities and local administrations to stabilize government organizational structures following the mergers, promote socio-economic development, maintain political security, public order, and safety, and successfully fulfill military and defense tasks in service of safeguarding the Fatherland in the new context.
