In May, the Standing Board of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and the Ministry of National Defense (MND) have led and directed the whole military to comprehensively, resolutely implement and complete military and defense missions.
The whole military has strictly maintained combat readiness regulations, closely managed the air, sea, border areas, and mainland while actively advising the Party and State to handle situations in a timely and effective manner to avoid being put in a disadvantaged position and working closely with relevant forces to ensure social order and safety across the country, especially the fifth meeting of the 13th Party Central Committee, the third session of the 15th National Assembly, and the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31).
Notably, at SEA Games 31, the military delegation participated in 21 out of 40 sports events, breaking three records, pocketing 26 gold, 15 silver, and eight bronze medals.
Attentively, defense agencies and military units have adjusted combat plans in a timely manner and deployed personnel and vehicles to help Northern localities overcome consequences of unusually heavy rain. They have also accelerated electronic reconnaissance, strictly managed cyberspace, ensured smooth communications for the activities of Party and State leaders and military chains-of-command.
In addition, the whole military has comprehensively realized resolutions adopted by the Central Military Commission and the MND’s plans in implementing the Politburo’s Resolution No.5 on military organization in the 2021-2030 period and following years.

It is worth noting that the whole military has ensured quality of training sessions, well observed force-regularity building rules, military discipline, and assured safety. Meanwhile, military schools have improved education and training quality, made good preparation for this year’s enrollment.
Defense agencies and military units have well performed political and ideological education for troops, actively fought against wrongful and inimical viewpoints, and effectively protected the Party’s ideological foundation as well.
In May, an awarding ceremony for the 22nd Military Creative Youth Awards was held successfully and various significant, practical and wide-spread activities were launched in response to the Labor Month 2022. In addition, the progress and quality of major defense industry projects and programs have been ensured.
Concluding the meeting, Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang acknowledged and highly appreciated accomplishments obtained by units in the whole military in May.
Regarding tasks for June, the defense chief urged the Standing Board of the CMC, and the MND to lead the whole military to strictly observe combat readiness regulations and carry out duties, keep a close watch on and make precise forecasts of situations to give timely recommendations to higher levels for settling contingencies.

The CMC Standing Board and MND were also asked to direct the whole military to team with authorized forces to ensure security and order in the country, continue their training, assess the outcomes of the training in the first stage for all subjects and athletes to the International Army Games 2022 and successfully organize the meeting of the Technical Committee of the upcoming Vietnam-hosted ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet.
The leadership over the political and ideological education, law dissemination, internal political protection, security and safety assurance, mass mobilization, production, disease prevention, healthcare for troops is also what the CMC Standing Board and MND should concentrate on as well, according to General Giang.
