 Lt. Gen. Do Can presenting Tet gifts to troops of the Coast Guard ship 1008 of the Coast Guard Command Region 3

Visiting the Thai Nguyen provincial Military Command, Division 312 of Army Corps 1 and Factories Z131 and Z115, Chief of the General Staff of the VPA and Deputy Minister of National Defense Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang was reported on the units’ task performance last year and combat readiness and preparation for a warm Tet for troops this year.

General Giang lauded the units for their achievements and asked them to better educate their troops to heighten their vigilance and strictly observe disciplines and to ensure a happy, safe and economical Tet holiday for their staff while promoting combat readiness posture to timely handle any circumstances.

He also requested the units to inquire after and give assistance to families of needy troops.

Meanwhile, having reported on the task performances in 2016 and key missions this year by Border Posts 737 and 735 under the Dak Lak provincial Border Guard, Deputy Minister of National Defense Sr. Lt. Gen. Le Chiem hailed their good results in fulfilling assigned missions and spoke highly of their close coordination with relevant forces in Dak Lak province to ensure national security, social order and safety, well implement border affairs, and contribute to the local socio-economic development.

Regarding the tasks for 2017, the Deputy Minister of National Defense asked the units to promote solidarity, heighten vigilance, exert all efforts to overcome difficulties to firmly protect sovereignty over the national border. He also asked them to follow closely developments of the situation along the borderline and in the locality, promote combat readiness posture, and uphold political security, social order, and safety in border areas during the lunar New Year festival.

The same day, Lt. Gen. Do Can, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the VPA congratulated the Coast Guard Command Region 3, Brigade 171 of the Naval Region 2, the Ba Ria-Vung Tau provincial Command, Brigade 87 of the Chemical Corps and Brigade 96 of the Artillery Corps for their accomplishments gained last year and spoke highly of their combat readiness duties and plans to ensure happy Tet for troops.
