PANO - Defence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh on February 4th visited and extended Lunar New Year or Tet greetings to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans’ Association, the Party committees and authorities and people of Vinh Phuc ward (Ba Dinh district, Hanoi), and military units stationed in Hanoi.

This year’s Tet, the Vietnam Veterans’ Association has implemented gratitude activities towards its members. As for military units, they continue to strictly maintain combat readiness posture and firmly safeguard the territorial integrity and sovereignty over the border and sea and islands, ensuring a happy Tet.

The same day, General Phung Quang Thanh visited and sent Tet greetings to the Party committee, authorities and people of Vinh Phuc ward (Ba Dinh district, Hanoi) and affiliate units of the Hanoi Capital Command. Visiting the ward and units, Minister Phung Quang Thanh appreciated and hailed the performance of the armed forces over the past time, especially their spirit to overcome all difficulties and hardships to firmly safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.

* On February 4th, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung, Deputy Defence Minister, leading a mission of the Ministry of Defence, inspected and presented Tet gifts to the Border Guard Command in the south, the Border Guard Command of Ho Chi Minh City, the Military Command of Ho Chi Minh City and Gia Dinh Regiment under the city’s command.

The mission checked the barracks and the living environment for the officers and soldiers of Gia Dinh Regiment and listened to the report of the unit on the implementation of combat readiness task during Tet holiday. The Deputy Minister stressed that Ho Chi Minh City is the key locality in the southern region; therefore, units must actively and closely collaborate to ensure absolute safety for the city.
