According to the Naval Service’s report, the unit has overcome hardships to fulfill their assigned missions, particularly in maintaining combat readiness, providing timely advice for the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to promptly deal with emerging situations, and firmly protecting the national sovereignty over seas and islands. Affiliated units of the service have strictly implemented training contents, carried out COVID-19 prevention and control measures, and joined the search and rescue missions.

Speaking at the session, General Cuong acknowledged achievements of the service over the past time, and at the same time asking the Party committees and chains-of-command at all levels to continue to enhance political and ideological education to raise troops’ awareness of their tasks. In addition, he urged them to seriously maintain combat readiness, actively grasp all situations, conduct training programs as planned, and make effective use of assigned weapons and equipment.

Due to the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the chief of the General Staff required the Naval Service to continue conducting pandemic preventive measures, ensuring safety for its units, and assisting local authorities to fight the pandemic.

On the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the first victory of the naval troops (August 2 and 5, 1964), General Cuong hoped that the naval troops and employees will continue to bring into play their heroic traditions and surmount difficulties to fulfill their assigned missions.
